Nifty recently witnessed a technical rebound after taking support near the August 2025 lows, which has historically acted as a strong demand zone. The index also attempted to reclaim the previous important support area, indicating that buyers are trying to defend key levels. However, the rebound lost momentum and the index is currently trading near a crucial make-or-break zone around 24,300\u201324,280. A decisive breakdown below this range could trigger fresh selling pressure and may drag the index towards 23,950 and 23,810 levels in the short term. On the upside, 24,880\u201324,900 will act as an immediate resistance zone. If the index manages to sustain above this range, a short covering move towards 25,150 cannot be ruled out.<\/p>\n
Technically, Nifty appears to be forming a rounding top pattern, which generally indicates that bullish momentum is gradually weakening. Additionally, a gap near 25,165 on the weekly chart remains an important technical reference level for the market.<\/p>\n
From the options data perspective, volatility remains elevated and participation is relatively lower than usual. Fresh call writing in near OTM strikes suggests that bears may have the upper hand in the immediate short term. The Put Call Ratio (PCR) is around 0.67, indicating the market is approaching an oversold zone, with immediate support expected near 24,000 levels.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Bank Nifty, which had been outperforming Nifty over the past few weeks, is now showing signs of losing momentum and witnessing profit booking. The Budget day low around 57,790\u201357,760 will continue to act as an important support zone. If this level breaks decisively, the index may decline towards 56,980\u201356,950 and further towards 55,750 levels. On the upside, 59,280\u201359,320 will act as an important resistance zone and a move above it could trigger a short covering bounce towards 59,740\u201359,990.<\/p>\n
On the global front, USDINR recently closed at an all-time high, which has put pressure on precious metals like gold and silver due to their negative correlation with the dollar. At the same time, crude oil prices surged nearly 35% last week, reaching around 8,500, which has increased concerns in global markets and contributed to weakness in international equities.<\/p>\n
Overall, geopolitical uncertainty, rising crude prices, and elevated volatility suggest that markets may continue to witness sharp swings in the near term.<\/p>\n
